3 juices / smoothies that promote blood circulation in the legs

Many of us suffer from poor blood circulation in our legs. Anyone who has been on their feet all day will feel it in the evening.

The legs literally become heavy due to reduced blood flow and the resulting accumulation of water. Those who often suffer from heavy legs, for example because they have to stand a lot at work, should take a closer look at our three juice ideas / smoothier recipes:

rosemary

Green smoothie with nettle

Nettle has a dehydrating effect and helps prevent water retention. You can buy the leaves in dried form in pharmacies or health food stores. Since the nettle grows almost everywhere, you can also harvest it yourself and process it into a fresh smoothie.

The more nettles you mix in the smoothie , the more intense the effect! You should only pick the nettles where the next road is far and you are sure that no pesticides have been sprayed.

In the months that contain the letter “R”, the nettle should not burn or burn only a little. This does not matter when making the smoothie, because the nettle hairs that cause the sting are destroyed in the mixer.

However, you should wear gloves when harvesting. Use only the well washed leaves, not the woody stems!

For the delicious smoothie you need:

  • At least 2 handfuls of fresh nettle leaves
  • 2 bananas
  • Juice of one lemon
  • some water.

Put everything together in a blender and only use enough water to create a nice, creamy, green smoothie. Ideal for stimulating the drainage of swollen legs and promoting blood circulation!

Grapefruit berry juice for better blood circulation

Grapefruit contains many bitter substances, these not only stimulate digestion, but are also supposed to promote blood circulation. It is the same with blueberries, which are even sold in dried form as a digestive aid for the liver and gall bladder and are said to stimulate and promote blood circulation.

For this refreshing juice you need:

  • 2 grapefruit or a large pomelo
  • 10 blueberries (or more, depending on your taste)
  • 1 glass of mineral water

Squeeze out the grapefruit or pomelo. It is important that you do not remove the white skins of the pomelo. The more bitter substances, the better! Perhaps you would also like to process the whole peeled fruit in a particularly powerful stand mixer / blender?

Add the glass of sparkling mineral water. At the end, add the blueberries like precious pearls. That looks great and classy! Of course, it is just as effective if you process the blueberries into juice at the same time – but after all, the eyes eat too!

orange juice

May punch for the legs

Known more as a flavoring ingredient for alcoholic maypots, the woodruff is also an ancient medicinal plant. It has a vascular strengthening effect in the case of weak veins and helps against edema. Woodruff contains coumarin, which reduces blood clotting so that the blood flows better.

It is actually used as a tea. You collect the herb yourself or get it from the pharmacy. Woodruff can also be used to strengthen blood vessels, especially veins. As a result, together with its liver and kidney strengthening properties, it also helps against swollen legs.

However, woodruff should not be overdosed, otherwise it can cause headaches.

Sometimes you can buy fresh woodruff at the weekly market, but it’s best to collect it yourself while taking a walk – because exercise also helps to ensure good blood circulation in the legs!

You only need two ingredients:

  • 5 sheets of woodruff
  • 1 glass of orange juice

Please do not use woodruff anymore, otherwise it will cause a headache! Chop the woodruff in the orange juice with the mixer or cut it into very small pieces beforehand, for example with a chopping knife.
