Beautiful curls with homemade masks

Maybe you fancy a new hairstyle or you want to define your curls better. In this post we explain how your curly hair will shine particularly beautifully with simple masks and a few great tips.

Tips for beautiful curls

Beautiful curls  without harmful heat treatments isn’t that difficult at all. There are many different ways to achieve this goal without your hair suffering from it.

For straight hair or undefined curls, we recommend using the following recommendations and homemade masks:

An excellent way to create beautiful curls is  to twist your wet hair as tightly as possible.

Then dry the hair briefly and wait about one to two hours for the hair to dry completely by itself. Then loosen and knead the hair to get more volume.

If your hair is slightly wavy, comb it with a wide-pronged comb while it’s still damp. Then take one strand at a time, roll it with your fingers and secure it with a bobby pin. Then let the hair dry.

Our grandmothers didn’t have a curling iron or a hair dryer, but they still shone with great curls. They used bobby pins to shape the hair and then let it dry.

So that the twisted strands of hair last longer, you can sleep with a hairnet or a headscarf. The next day, carefully remove the hair clips and you have a nice curly head.

Another option (for straight hair) is to braid it while it is still damp. Let the braids dry overnight, the next day you will be able to show off great curls and lots of volume.

A French braid is best, braided as close to the base as possible. If you have a lot of hair, you can braid several braids.

With homemade masks you can get rid of the unsightly frizz and show off nicer curls. To do this, warm two spoons of olive oil with half a cup of honey. Use this mixture to massage the scalp first and then apply it to the tips.

Cover the hair with a plastic hood to enhance the effect. After half an hour of action, wash out with a good, sulfate-free shampoo. Honey can slightly lighten the shade.

Essential or natural oils are perfect for defining the curls. Simply warm up a cup of olive or coconut oil and apply it to your hair.

Then cover the hair with a shower cap or a warm towel. After half an hour of action, wash with cold water.

This mask is recommended three times a week. Then the hair is dried slightly so that it no longer drips and the curls are prepared as described above.

Did you know that diet can also support beautiful curls? If you drink enough water (at least 2 liters a day), this will also be reflected in your appearance.

We also recommend fish oil (natural or in capsule form) and plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables in your daily diet.

Thorough treatment is recommended once a week. This makes the hair more beautiful, healthier and easier to style. Mash the pulp of an avocado and mix with a spoon of olive oil and a teaspoon of baking powder.

Apply this mask to the hair and rinse off again after 15 minutes of action. After that, wash the hair as usual and set the curls using the preferred method.

If you have natural waves, but the curls cannot be defined and there is frizz, we recommend the following procedure: Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner for your hair type.

Then rinse well and style your hair with a wide-pointed comb in the shower. Then squeeze out the water well and shape the curls. Do not use a hair dryer.

It is important that the hair is wet but not dripping. You can apply a hair mousse or curl the strands directly and secure them with bobby pins. After about half an hour, remove the bobby pins and carefully roll out the curls.

Gently shake the hair and use your fingers to help shape the curls.

Another option is to knead your hair upside down from the tips to the roots with your fingers after the shower to create beautiful curls.
