  • 2 chicken legs (450 g)
  • 1 ½ cup chicken broth (300 ml)
  • ½ cup white wine (100 ml)
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • ½ onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed with a garlic press
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil (45 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons turmeric (30 g)
  • 2 tablespoons of salt (30 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of pepper (15 g)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cube of chicken broth (to taste)

Even if you are not very experienced in cooking and are worried whether you will succeed in this recipe: Don’t panic! We’ll explain how to do it step by step.

You will see it is very easy! And it doesn’t take too long either: it’s ready in less than an hour. So you don’t need to worry about time either.

  1. First you take a large saucepan and fry the onion pieces and the crushed garlic cloves with olive oil. You should stir constantly while doing this.
  2. Then you add the chicken legs. Fry them until they are golden brown.
  3. The carrot you should cut into not too large pieces. They shouldn’t be more than 2 inches thick. Because that’s how they get soft.
  4. Then you pour the chicken broth into the large saucepan. And you add the sliced ​​carrot and turmeric, the bay leaves, salt and pepper. Stir everything well so that it mixes well.
  5. Let everything simmer for about 5 minutes. Then you add the cup of wine. Let the alcohol evaporate briefly, then close the lid again. Let everything simmer over medium heat. You should stir every 5 minutes.
  6. After about 20 to 25 minutes, you can try to see if the chicken is tender.
  7. When the meat is done, you take it out. Instead, you now add the rice to the saucepan so that it absorbs the chicken broth.
  8. You can also add a cube of chicken broth, if you like. Let the rice cook for 5 minutes with the lid closed. Then you add the chicken legs again.
  9. Now turn off the stove and let everything go a little.
  10. Finally, before serving, you can add a few bay leaves or red peppercorns as a decoration.
